Poste Coding Generation is a programme of workshops to train very young people on coding techniques, the methodology on which computer programming is based, so that they may learn new techniques for using new technologies.
Children and teenagers, divided into two age groups (7-10 and 11-14 years), have the opportunity to experiment with programming languages, such as Scratch, to create interactive stories, games, animations, and many other things.
These workshops also feature “digital education” sessions for parents. Experts in digital technologies describe some good practices to be followed by parents to help their children in their daily interaction with new technologies, and to learn how to configure parental control systems on their devices.
Poste Coding Generation events are under way in various Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Genoa, Padua, Turin, Cosenza), with the involvement of numerous primary schools. More than 1,500 children have already participated in the initiative.
